Vince Gillon, Executive Director of Carepoint Adult, Child and Family Association, holds a master degree in counseling, certifications as a Certified Supervisor, Addictions Drug Counselor, Licensed Practical Counselor, Mentally Ill Substance Abuse Counselor II and is a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist. Vince has his own history of addiction and madness, got sober in jail, returned to the community and wanted to make a difference. Vince Gillon began working with the homeless at REST shelter, became the Director of the Men’s program, developed addictions programs at Lakeview and Hilda’s shelter and directed the evening outpatient program at Chicago Lakeshore Hospital. Vince has been working with the homeless and ex-offenders since his entry back into the community. As Director of BEHIV’s outreach program on the north side, Vince has been involved with prevention at all levels since 1992. In 2000 he was instrumental in developing Carepoint Adult, Child and Family Association. He has been a part of state and local regional planning groups and other boards. Carepoint has also received an award from the NAACP.
